  1/ La Romanée – Côte de Nuits, Burgundy – 0,85 hectare

This is the smallest appellation of France and probably one of the most prestigious Grands Crus of Burgundy. Contrary to what one might think, Romanée-Conti is not the smallest Grand Cru in Burgundy but Romanée.

The the size of the parcel ("climat") is equivalent to a football field, with only 4000 bottles produced per year. La Romanée is owned by the Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair.

  2/ Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet - Côte de Beaune, Burgundy – 1,57 hectare

This is the smallest appellation of white wines in France, located in Cote de Beaune between Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet.

Besides Grands Crus Batard-Montrachet, Le Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet Bienvenue, Chevalier-Montrachet and Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet Criots-is one of the rarest white wines of France.

3/ La Grande Rue - Côte de Nuits, Burgundy – 1,65 hectare

The vineyard is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanee in the heart of the Côte de Nuits.

The Grand Cru "La Grande Rue" is located not far from the famous Romanee-Conti, just on the other side of the road. La Grande Rue is only produced by François Lamarche.

4/ La Romanée Conti – Côte de Nuits, Burgundy– 1,77 hectare

 Romanée Conti, this legendary wine, the most famous red Burgundy, the greatest Grands Crus of the Cote de Nuits, is produced by the Domaine de la Romanée Conti.

5/ Château Grillet - Rhône Valley – 3,5 hectares

Owned since June 2011 by François Pinault (also owner of the famous Château Latour in Pauillac), Château-Grillet is the smallest appellation of the Rhone Valley.

The appellation Château-Grillet, located 500 meters above the Rhone river, is made exclusively of viognier grape.
